A shaft seal of a shaft (20) installed in a bearing housing (30) of a turbo machine has an attachment unit (81) on the shaft and is located between an empty space (50) in the bearing housing (30) and a rear space of an operation wheel (11) of the turbo machine. The shaft seal includes one or more piston ring (41,42)-shaped seals on the operation wheel side between the bearing housing (30,31) and the attachment unit (81) and a sealed gap (43)-shaped seal on the bearing side between the bearing housing (30,31) and the attachment unit (81). An oil drainage chamber (53) is installed between the seal on the operation wheel side and the seal on the bearing side and is limited by a sealed gap (44)-shaped third seal between the bearing housing (30,31) and the attachment unit (81). |
