The present invention relates to a polypropylene resin for a biaxially oriented film and, more specifically, to a polypropylene resin for a biaxially oriented film and the biaxially oriented film manufactured therefrom, wherein the polypropylene resin is a propylene homopolymer or a propylene-alphaolefin copolymer; the propylene-alphaolefin is a propylene-ethylene copolymer including 0.7 wt% or less of ethylene or a propylene-butene copolymer including 2.6 wt% or less of butane; and the polypropylene resin has a melting index of 1-5 g/10 minutes (230°C, 2.16 kg) and a crystallizing temperature of 117°C or higher. The polypropylene resin according to the present invention can provide the biaxially oriented polypropylene film which can be molded rapidly and has excellent heat resistance and stiffness.
