An apparatus for transmitting/receiving data of mobile communications system capable of improving system performance and method thereof are provided to reduce influence about a channel fading by multiplexing two sub blocks interleaved through a parallel interleaver structure into several bursts. An apparatus for transmitting/receiving data of mobile communications system includes a multiplexing and burst mapping part(210) and a M-array modulator. The multiplexing and burst mapping part equally divides a systematic data block and a parity data block into sub blocks in order to multiplex the systematic data block and the parity data block into burst symbols. The multiplexing and burst mapping part maps pair assembling a first sub block of a divided systematic data block and a first sub block of the parity data block in a first burst, and maps combination of all sub blocks of the systematic data block and all sub blocks of the parity data block in all bursts. The M-array modulator corresponds bits comprising the sub block of the systematic data block and bits comprising the sub block of the parity data block into one symbol of a bit unit, and maps bits corresponding to a bit reliability pattern about a M-array modulation symbol. |
