摘要 The present invention relates to a dual-arm industrial robot and, more particularly, to a 16-axis dual-arm industrial robot in which the 16 axes are realized by adding a bending axis to a 15-axis dual-arm industrial robot so that a workspace can be expanded and the torque and speed required for driving units of both arms can be reduced. The 16-axis dual-arm industrial robot according to the present invention includes both of the arms, each of which has first to third joint portions capable of rotation and joint movement with first to sixth axes; shoulder side driving units that are positioned in the left and right of an upper end of a body and allow a rotary motion of each of both of the arms; a supporting unit that is positioned on a lower side of the body, supports the body, and has a horizontal axis of rotation to allow a horizontal rotary motion; and a bending portion that is positioned between an upper end of the supporting unit and the body, and has the bending axis to allow a bending motion of the body. According to the present invention, the 16 axes are realized by adding the bending axis to the 15-axis dual-arm industrial robot so that the workspace can be expanded. Also, a complex and elaborate operation can be performed in an adverse working environment such as that with an obstacle, and the size of the torque required for the driving units of both of the arms during the operation can be reduced.
