The present invention relates to a high power carbon electrode for energy storage and a manufacturing method thereof, and, more specifically, to a high power carbon electrode for energy storage usable for a high power energy storage device by controlling the power density of a carbon electrode used for energy storage, and a manufacturing method thereof. The manufacturing method of the carbon electrode for energy storage according to a preferable embodiment of the present invention comprises: a step of adjusting the viscosity of slurry to 700-1,300 mPa·S by mixing carbon powder, a conducting material, and a binder; a step of coating the slurry on a metal current collector and drying; and a step of compressing the dried electrode at 20-40% of pressing rate with a roll press. According to the manufacturing method of the carbon electrode for energy storage, the carbon electrode having an electrode density of 0.35-0.9 g/cc is manufactured. |
