Provided is an efficient multimedia data communications method in a sensor network and a system thereof. The multimedia data communications method in a sensor network according to an embodiment of the present invention includes the steps of selecting paths from a source to a gateway; and selecting a part of the selected paths as multimedia data transmission paths. Accordingly, a sensor network with limited resources and power can efficiently transmit a large amount of multimedia data and ensure the quality of the transmission.
