The shock absorber (1) has a non-return valve arranged in a hydraulic fluid flow circuit. A helicoid compression spring is provided with end turns and median turns connecting the end turns, where each end turn includes a free end. One of the end turn provides a constant section until the free end. A valve is movable between opening and closing positions of the non-return valve, and is requested by the end turn at a continuous section of the spring toward the closing position. The non-return valve includes a thrust in contact with another end turn.
