The method involves converting acoustic signals into electrical signals, and filtering the electrical signals to identify that the electrical signals are associated with a rupture of a rupture element. The filtered electrical signals are processed to calculate energy of the electrical signals during breaking-out of the rupture element. The calculated energy is compared with a predetermined threshold value. A defective character of an installation process is presented when the calculated energy is lower than the predetermined threshold value. An independent claim is also included for a device for controlled installation of a blind fastener for fixing two parts of an aircraft structure to each other.
