The present invention relates to a method for maintaining and managing a battery of an electric vehicle and, more particularly, to a system and method for aging a battery unit of a battery pack which if the performance of a battery unit of a battery pack, such as a battery module or a battery cell, is deteriorated or the battery unit is damaged, forcibly ages the battery unit to be replaced such that the performance of the battery unit to be replaced becomes similar to that of an existing battery unit, thereby improving the entire performance of the battery pack even after the replacement of the battery unit. Since the replacement of individual battery units is possible in the battery pack, a usable battery cell in the same battery pack does not have to be discarded, and thus a waste of batteries can be prevented, thereby enabling the efficient use of the battery. Further, the battery repair and maintenance costs can be reduced, thereby improving the satisfaction of electric vehicle drivers and increase the distribution rate of electric vehicles.
