A method of decoding an image according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: specifying a transform unit with which an intra-prediction is performed; and performing the intra-prediction with the transform unit using a reference block around the transform unit. When the uppermost and leftmost coordinates of the transform unit are denoted by (Tx, Ty) and the height and width of the transform unit are denoted by N, the reference block for said intra-prediction may contain a pixel existing at the left side of the transform unit and located from (Tx-1, Ty) to (Tx-1, Ty+2*N -1), a pixel located at (Tx-1,Ty-1), and a pixel existing at the top end of the transform unit and located from (Tx, Ty-1) to (Tx +2*N -1, Ty-1).
