摘要 <p>The method involves building a filling model of a cylinder (1) of an internal combustion engine, where the filling model connects a mass of sucked air to an opening angle (thetaivo) and a closing angle (thetaivc) of an inlet valve (2) of the cylinder. The opening and closing angles of the inlet valve are determined by an actuator that is indirectly operated by a cam (3). The mass of the sucked air is determined based on the filling model and the opening and closing angles of the inlet valve. Calibration parameters are provided by linear regression of experimental measures. The actuator is designed as an electromagnetic, pneumatic or hydraulic actuator. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling an internal combustion engine.</p>
