<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing a carbon fiber, in which the method exhibits high production efficiency (increase in weight) of the carbon fiber per catalyst mass, and small temperature dependency of the production efficiency, and the carbon fiber has a small variation of impurity concentration, and an excellent fillability and dispersibility into resins or the like and enhances electrical and thermal conductivities of the resins or the like.SOLUTION: A method for producing carbon fibers includes steps of: obtaining a catalyst by dissolving or dispersing [I] a compound containing a Co element, [II] a compound containing at least one element selected from the group consisting of Ti, V, Cr, and Mn, and [III] a compound containing at least one element selected from the group consisting of W and Mo, in a solvent, and then impregnating the solution or the dispersion into a powder and granular carrier; and bringing the catalyst into contact with a carbon source in a gas phase.</p> |
