<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device which enables a light spread angle to be adjusted thereby efficiently extracting from the light emitting device an outgoing beam from a semiconductor laser element and achieves excellent heat radiation performance of a wavelength conversion member.SOLUTION: A light emitting device includes: a semiconductor laser element 110; a cap 130 which covers the semiconductor laser element 110 and has a through hole 140 for emitting light from the semiconductor laser element 110; and a wavelength conversion member 150 which absorbs the light from the semiconductor laser element 110 and emits light having a different wavelength. The light emitting device has a horizontal surface 145, on which the wavelength conversion member 150 is placed, on an inner wall surface of the through hole 140. The inner wall surface 141 located below the horizontal surface 145 inclines or curves so that an opening of the through hole 140 expands from the lower side to the upper side.</p> |
