1. A recording apparatus comprising:
a carriage configured to carry a recording head that records an image on a recording material and to move in a main scanning direction; a sliding member provided in the carriage and movable between a first position in relation to the carriage and a second position that projects further than the first position from the carriage; a guiding member configured to guide the carriage moving in the main scanning direction; a switch member provided in the carriage and configured to move relative to the carriage along the main scanning direction to move the sliding member between the first position and the second position; and a regulation member configured to be movable between a projected position and a recessed position in a conveying direction of the recording material, the projected position corresponding to where the switch member contacts the regulation member when the carriage moves in the main scanning direction to cause the switch member to move the sliding member, the recessed position corresponding to where the switch member does not contact the regulation member.
