PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a substrate with a decorative material or a transparent protective layer, which has high productivity and high linearity of a frame inner part of the decorative material or an outer peripheral part of the transparent protective layer.SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a substrate with a decorative material or a transparent protective layer includes steps of: forming cuts in a transfer material comprising a temporary support and either a colored layer or a transparent resin layer, the cuts having a depth enough to penetrate the colored layer or the transparent resin layer in a thickness direction and having a straight line portion in an in-plane direction; removing the colored layer or the transparent resin layer from some regions of the transfer material in the in-plane direction to the depth of the cuts; affixing the transfer material having the remaining regions of the colored layer or the transparent resin layer which have not been removed, to a substrate; removing the temporary support from the transfer material affixed to the substrate; and forming the decorative material or the transparent protective layer by curing the remaining regions of the colored layer or the transparent resin layer of the transfer material affixed to the substrate. The colored layer contains a coloring material and a binder resin; and the colored layer contains at least a coloring material and a binder resin. |
