1. A method of detecting HAV in a biological sample, comprising
a) amplifying a target nucleic acid comprising the nucleic acid sequence of HAV in a reaction mixture, the reaction mixture comprising a biological sample which may contain the target nucleic acid, and at least a first and a second primer, wherein the nucleic acid sequence of the first primer is selected from SEQ ID NOS: 5-8 and the nucleic acid sequence of the second primer is selected from SEQ ID NOS: 10-11;
wherein the amplifying generates an amplified target nucleic acid, and b) detecting the amplified target nucleic acid.
