An electric power conversion device configured such that a plurality of cell converters (20a-20c) are connected in a cascade, said cell converters comprising: main circuits (3a-3c); drive circuits (4a-4c); and self-supplying devices (5a-5c) that receive power supply from the main circuits (3a-3c) and supply power to the drive circuits (4a-4c). The drive circuit (4a) has power supplied thereto from the self-supplying device (5a) inside the cell converter (20a) therefor, via a first power supply line (6a), and also has power supplied thereto from the self-supplying device (5c) inside another cell converter (20c), via a second power supply line (7c) having an insulated I/O circuit (9c) provided therein. During errors in the self-supplying device (5a), the drive circuit (4a) has power supplied thereto from the self-supplying device (5c) inside the other cell converter (20c), and the electric power conversion device can continue a prescribed output. |
