METHOD FOR FACTORY RESET OF SUBSCRIBER CERTIFICATION MODULE AND APPARATUS USING THE METHOD

Disclosed are a method and apparatus for returning a subscriber authentication module to a factory reset. The method for the factory reset of the subscriber authentication module is performed by a terminal on which an embedded UICC (eUICC) is mounted, and includes the steps of: receiving an event for requesting the factory reset; and returning the state of eUICC to the factory reset according to the event for requesting the factory reset. Therefore, the method for the factory reset of the subscriber authentication module and the terminal using the same return the eUICC to the previously defined factory reset which each vendor of the eUICC uniformly follows.
