PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a red coloring composition for a color filter, capable of achieving high luminosity and wide color reproduction region and capable of forming a color filter, in a color display device using a white light emitting organic EL element as a light source; a color filter using the red coloring composition; and a color display device including the color filter.SOLUTION: A red coloring composition contains an azo pigment represented by general formula (1), a binder resin, a photopolymerizable monomer, and a photopolymerization initiator.
