Further, an extracted portion of a working fluid generated in a steam generation source of the bottom cycle heat engine can be used along with the thermal energy storage to heat fuel gas.

A system, comprising: a gas turbine engine; a steam generating source configured to recover exhaust energy from the gas turbine and generate a supply of a working fluid; a thermal storage unit having a cold tank containing a thermal storage working medium in a cold state and a hot tank containing the thermal storage working medium in a heated state; a fuel gas source configured to supply fuel gas to the gas turbine engine; a first fuel gas heater configured to heat the fuel gas supplied from the fuel gas source; and a second fuel gas heater configured to complement the first fuel gas heater in the heating of the fuel gas supplied from the fuel gas source, wherein the first fuel gas heater and the second fuel gas heater utilize an extracted portion of the working fluid generated in the steam generating source and thermal energy from the thermal storage working medium stored in the hot tank of the thermal storage unit to heat the fuel gas to a predetermined fuel gas temperature level.
