PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition containing dendropanoxide from Dendropanax morbifera Leveille is provided to lower uric acid, urea, and creatine concentration and to prevent and treat diabetes. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating diabetes contains dendropanoxide(DP) as an active ingredient. DP is isolated from Dendropanax morbifera Leveille extract prepared using water, alcohol of C1-4, or a mixture solvent thereof. The pharmaceutical composition also contains pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, excipient, or diluents. A health functional food for preventing or treating diabetes contains DP and sitological food additive. The health functional food is beverage. |
