PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder capable of reducing impact sound generated at a time of feeding sheets while ensuring the stability of feeding the sheets, and an image forming apparatus including the same.SOLUTION: A sheet feeder includes: an intermediate plate 31 on which sheets S can be loaded, and that can push up the loaded sheets S; a feed roller 10 including a circular arc-shaped friction unit 10a that can feed the sheets S pushed up by the intermediate plate 31, and a notch 10b; feed rollers 12R and 12L rotatably provided on axially both sides of the feed roller 10, respectively, abutting on the uppermost sheet S pushed up by the intermediate plate 31, and restricting a pushed-up position of the uppermost sheet S; and rotational dampers 13R and 13L that contact the uppermost sheet S pushed up by the intermediate plate 31 directly or indirectly, and that attenuate an impact force generated when the uppermost sheet S abuts on the feed rollers 12R and 12L. |
