The invention relates to a method for operating a fuel cell system having at least one fuel cell (2) and at least one electrical energy storage device (4), for making available a required electrical power level, wherein the currently required power level is detected. The invention is characterized in that in the case of a currently required power level below a characteristic power level (Pc) the fuel cell (2) is operated by generating the characteristic power level (Pc), wherein the difference between the characteristic power level (Pc) and the currently required power level is stored in the energy storage device (4). The method is provided for use in a fuel cell vehicle. |
