The present invention discloses a system and a method for heating a battery module. The method includes the steps of: generating a first signal denoting a first voltage level of a first battery cell group; and generating a second signal denoting a second voltage level of a second battery cell group. The method includes a step of outputting a temperature signal denoting a temperature level of at least one of the first and second battery cell groups. In addition, the method includes a step of selecting one of the first and second battery groups, such that electricity is partly discharged by using a computer when the temperature level is lower than a threshold temperature level and the first and second battery groups are not electrically balanced with each other.
