Embodiments of the present invention provide a method, user equipment, and access point for uplink power control. The method comprises using various uplink power control mechanisms to control, respectively, the power of various uplink signals so as to determine the transmission power for each of the various uplink signals; and using said determined transmission power to send the various uplink signals. In embodiments of the present invention, various uplink power mechanisms can be used for various corresponding uplink signals so that the appropriate transmission power is used to transmit each of the various uplink signals. This increases the precision with which various access points are able to conduct channel measurement on the basis of a corresponding uplink signal.
