An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to omit a passivation forming process and a pixel electrode forming process by the transparent conduction materials, thereby simplifying the manufacturing process. A gate line(101), a gate electrode, the first storage electrode(106), the first common line(103) and the first common electrode(103a) are formed on a substrate. A gate insulating layer is formed on the substrate and thereafter a portion of the first common line and the first common electrode is exposed so that a contact hole s formed. A channel layer is formed on the substrate having the gate insulating layer. A metal layer is formed on the substrate having the channel layer. Source/drain electrodes, a data line and a pixel electrode are formed by using mask processes. The first common electrode alternately separated to the pixel electrode, the third common electrode(113b) overlapped with the first common electrode and a second common line overlapped with the first common line are formed. |
