PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide compositions and methods for preparation of concentrated stock solutions of virions, particularly adeno-associated virus (AAV) virions, without aggregation.SOLUTION: A method of preventing aggregation of virions in a preparation of virions comprises adding one or more excipients to the preparation of virions to achieve an ionic strength of at least about 200 mM. This combination of the high ionic strength and modest osmolarity is achieved using salts of high valency, such as sodium citrate. |
