METHOD FOR DETECTING TARGET USING PASSIVE INFRARED SENSOR AND APPARATUS THEREOF

Disclosed are a method and a device for detecting a target using a passive infrared (PIR) sensor. The method for detecting a target using a PIR sensor includes the steps of: detecting first target information from PIR detection information based on a length of a signal included in the PIR detection information; detecting second target information from the PIR detection information based on energy of the signal included in the PIR detection information; and detecting a target based on a detection pattern appearing in the first target information and the second target information. Therefore, the method and the device of the present invention can improve target detection performance.
