PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cushioning material having a simple structure and an enhanced cushioning effect and a cardboard box for packaging provided with it.SOLUTION: A cushioning material is produced by folding double a cardboard plate formed by creasing and composed of a first short side part, a first long side part, a second short side part, a second long side part and a third short side part into a rectangular cylindrical frame shape so that the first short side part is located inside the third short side part. The width of the first short side part is adjusted to be slightly greater than the value obtained by subtracting the thickness of the cardboard plate from the width of the third short side part, and the width of the second short side part is equal to the width of the third short side part. A cardboard box for packaging equipped with the cushioning material is also provided.
