806,982. Heating floors and land electrically. PALATINI, B. May 29, 1956 [Feb. 21, 1956], No. 16532/56. Class 39(3) [Also in Groups X and XIII] In a surface covering for landing fields, streets, floors, walls, and the like, in which a grid-like structure 2 has the free spaces between the grid walls filled with material such as concrete 3 the structure is made of a flexible material, and the separate grid walls are at least twin-walled and closed at their upper end so that between the cells of building material 3 there are a series of compressible (passages 4, which in co-operation with the flexible structure 2 allow the surface covering to adapt itself to inequalities of the sub-soil. A part of the grid forming the tops of passages 4 may carry electric heating wires. The structure 2 is formed of a plurality of square grid elements of nylon or other synthetic material, each element having lobes 5 on two of its edges the other two edges 6 having a height which is less than the height of the other parts by an amount equal to the thickness of the material, so that when a series of elements 2 are assembled together the lobes 5 overlap the edges 6 and all the passages 4 are in communication with each other. Hot air or steam or cooling medium may be fed through the passages 4. |
