In a masted lift truck the fork F, or other load engaging member, is secured to a plate 16 which is pivoted to the joint 8 of a pair of toggle links 2, 3 the free ends of which are pivoted at 11, 12 to members 4, 5 which are each movable along guides 1 on the lifting carriage to permit the fork to be moved to any of the positions a-h shown in Fig. 1. Catches K are provided to selectively secure plate 16 to either of the links, and a spring (not shown), which is compressed when the links are moved to position a, breaks the toggle when members 4, 5 are moved initially. The adjustment of members 4, 5 can be effected either by remotely controlled hydraulic rams or manually. |
