In order to be capable of easily and quickly altering the contents of a settings file stored in a control device, a printing system comprises: a host computer having a printing control unit that refers to the settings file and generates a control command that executes printing, and sends the command to a printer by using a printing port, and a settings alteration unit that, if a settings alteration command instructing alteration to the settings information of a settings file is input from a management server by using the settings port, alters the setting information on the basis of the setting alteration command; and the management server having a setting alteration instruction unit that generates the setting alteration command for the settings file, for one or a plurality of specified host computers that are connected, and sends same to the host computers, by using the settings port established in each host computer. |
