An insertion-assist information detection system (1) has: an endoscopic device provided with an insertion part (12) for intratubular insertion into a subject to be observed, a gripping part (11) for gripping by an operator, and a movable part (13) mechanically connected so as to allow relative movement with the insertion part (12) and the gripping part (11); and a rotation distance detection sensor (50) for detecting the relative amount of movement of the gripping part (11) and insertion part (12) in the movable part (13).
