The invention relates mainly to a refractory material in contact with a coated metallic element (2). The invention also relates to a lining made from such a refractory material and to installations that may include such a lining. The invention finally relates to the use of a coating on a metallic element (2) in order to prevent carbon from being deposited under certain conditions. The metallic element (2) may be a metallic anchoring element which secures said refractory lining to a metallic structure. Finally, the invention relates to various possible applications of such a refractory material.
