A method of manufacturing an organic pigment with excellent thermostability and light stability through silica coating is disclosed. According to the present invention, the method of manufacturing an organic pigment includes: (a) forming a slurry by mixing a main composition including water, a first pigment intermediate, a strong acid, and sodium nitrite and a binding agent including water, sodium hydroxide, a second pigment intermediate, and acetic acid by a weight ratio of 1:1-1:3, and neutralizing the slurry; (b) adding an alkaline material in the resultant step (a); (c) adding a metal compound in the resultant step (b); (d) neutralizing the resultant step (c), filtering and washing to obtain an intermediate product; (e) dispersing the intermediate product in water; (f) adding an alkali metal salt in the resultant step (e) and micronizing; (g); inserting the resultant step (f) in a reactor, inserting sodium silicate, a coupling agent and a pH controlling agent from 0°C to less than 80°C, and stirring at a pH of 7-13; and (h) neutralizing the resultant step (g), heating, filtering and washing. |
