Construction machine with adjustment assistance system for a sensor unit

The machine (1) has a sensor unit (2) including a measurement region. A setup assistance system (10) includes a display (4) that indicates to an operator whether the sensor unit is oriented relative to a linear reference part (3) i.e. static laser beam, in which direction the sensor unit is moved in respect to the reference part positioned in the measurement region. The sensor unit detects a position of the reference part relative to the sensor unit in two dimensions. The display displays a position of the reference part relative detected dimensions of the measurement region. An independent claim is also included for a method for setting up a sensor unit on a construction machine.
