The method involves setting first operating mode (S2) in which a frame rate (FR) of the camera (1) is set to a first value (FR1), and second operating mode (S3) in which the frame rate of one of the second value (FR2) different from first value is set. The temperature (T) of image sensor (4) of the camera is detected. The switching between two operating modes is performed, based on the current value of the temperature.
