The tool i.e. brush cutter, has an intermediate stopper acting between a zero position and a maximum position, where a position of the stopper is adjustable over an adjustment element (17). A control element is operated when the intermediate stopper reaches the maximum position. Control force is increased for actuation of the control element when reaching the intermediate stopper. The control force is reduced after passing the intermediate stopper for further operation of the control element in an operation direction.
