Method for controlling a FEMTO box installed outside the territory of an operator

The method involves detecting network codes corresponding to a public land mobile network (PLMN) of an environment in which a femto box (10) is provided in a case, where the box includes a network sniffer (20). A network address (IP1) associated with the box is analyzed by a copy of a base station (22). Code encountered by a mobile telephone (11) in relation with the box is detected by transmission of a location message (24) by the telephone. Countries (P1-P3) in which the box is installed, are identified. The operation of the box is controlled according to the identified countries.
