The present invention relates to a data processing apparatus and a method thereof, and more particularly, to a data processing apparatus and a method thereof for checking PLC commands. The data processing apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: a data receiving unit which receives input data comprising multiple input operands, and separates the input operands included in the input data according to the configuration order; a command execution unit which executes commands in a consecutive order using the multiple input operands according to the order in which the data receiving unit separated the operands; and a data transmitting unit which outputs multiple actual output operands as results of the execution of the commands and transmits the output data comprising the multiple actual output operands.
