809,276. Vehicles simulating animals; tricylces. SEBEL & CO. Ltd., D. Aug. 21, 1957 [Aug. 21, 1956], No. 25479/56. Class 136(3) A child's velocipede comprises a frame 19 pivotally supporting at its forward end, a steerable front wheel supporting member 1 shaped at its upper end to simulate in side elevation the outline of an animals head, and a member 27 extending rearwardly from the velocipede to represent the tail or other extremity of the animal and operatively connected to the front wheelsuporting member 1 so that as the velocipede is steered to one side or the other, the member 27 is caused to swing transversely of the velocipede to represent movement of the tail or other extremity of the animal. The front wheel-supporting member comprises a steering column 2 pivoted to the frame by a pivot pin 9 engaging in co-operating brackets 7, 20 secured respectively to the steering column 2 and to the forward end of the frame 19. The pivot pin 9 may be constituted by an upwardly extending forward end of the member 27. Alternatively the member 27 may be formed of a flat metal strip rigidly secured to the pivot pin 9. The pin 9 is a close fit in the bracket 7 so that the member 27 will oscillate from side to side as the tricyle is steered. The resiliency of the metal rod 27 will also cause the tail portion 29 to oscillate vertically.
