The arrangement comprises a connection piece (25) with an end region which is adjacent to an outlet in a cylinder (18) of an internal combustion engine (10). A flow connection is formed between a combustion chamber (13) of the internal combustion engine and a silencer (100). The inner diameter of the end region is formed larger than the inner diameter of the outlet.
