<p>A method for allocating power among at least two generators 42, 44 to a single DC bus 80 that provides more efficient use of generating capacity on aircraft. Sharing regulators 60, 62 and feedback loops (110, 112, figure 3) are provided for each of the generators 42, 44 and a vehicle management system (VMS) 46 provides a digital input to each sharing regulator 60, 62 in the form of a share command representing a selected allocation of power generation for each generator 42, 44. Each sharing regulator 60, 62 supplies a voltage reference signal to each generator 42, 44, which in response generate a matching DC output voltage. The output of the generators 42, 44 is confirmed at the generator outputs 68, 70 using the respective current feedback loops (110, 112, figure 3) and any discrepancy between the sharing commands and the generator outputs is addressed by a corresponding adjustment in the voltage reference signals.</p> |
