PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably record a control value before exchanging a battery in a nonvolatile memory without imposing a load on a control means, while considering durability of the nonvolatile memory. SOLUTION: An image pickup device includes: a device which is driven by receiving power from a battery 16 so as to manually set the control value; the nonvolatile memory 13 for recording the control value; a battery removing part 15 to be used in exchanging the battery 16; a switch 22 to be turned on when the battery removing part 15 is depressed to a position for starting the recording the control value in the middle of a process to a battery removable position; and a control part 11 for receiving the on of the switch 22 so as to allow the nonvolatile memory 13 to record the control value, reading the control value recorded in the nonvolatile memory 13 when the power is re-supplied after the exchange of the battery, and recovering the device to the position based on the control value.
