<p>The present invention relates to a compact keyboard for the Vietnamese and a method thereof. The present invention provides the compact keyboard for the Vietnamese and the method thereof which, though being narrow, offer a key area larger than conventional types and prevents input efficiency from dropping. The present invention omits keys of′f′,′j′,′w′and′z′, which are not used in the Vietnamese, from the conventional qwerty keyboard, arranges a key of′y′on a key of′i′with the same phonetic value, a key of′p′on a key of′l′beneath the key of′p′, and a key of′x′on a key of′v′, respectively, to arrange seven keys, seven keys and five keys on the top line to the third line, respectively, defines that′y′,′p′and′x′are inputted by pushing the key of′i′, the key of′l′and the key of′v′two consecutive times, respectively and also defines that characters of f, j, w, z, r, s, and x for inputting pronunciation separation symbols according to the Vietnamese IME rule are inputted via keys of′d′,′k′,′q′,′c′,′r′,′s′, and′v′(the same key with′x′). The present invention enables a user to input characters at almost the same level in the number of input characters as the qwerty keyboard while, though being narrow, using the key area larger than the conventional types.</p> |
