PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a female terminal and a connector, which have resistance to pulling or twisting of an electric wire. SOLUTION: This invention relates to a female terminal 20 connecting to a tab like male terminal 31. The female terminal 20 includes a terminal body 21, which is provided so as to be able to fit with the male terminal 31 and extends in the direction that intersects the direction that the male terminal 31 is fitted into, a pair of contact pieces 21A and 21B, provided at the terminal body 21 and disposed at both sides so as to sandwich the male terminal 31, and a spring member 60 sandwiching the contact pieces 21A and 21B to elastically contact the contact pieces 21A and 21B against the male terminal 31. A retaining piece 26 is provided by folding one of the contact pieces 21A and 21B to face a side end of the male terminal 31, and the male terminal 31 is enclosed in three directions by the contact pieces 21A and 21B and the retaining piece 26.
