The invention includes a ceramic macromembrane for micro- and ultrafiltration of fluids, including water, and the filtration device that uses same. Said macromembrane is characterized in that it may be of any size and morphology and functions in accordance with a new operating concept known as "tangential/axial operation". It is produced by slip casting, unlike the standard production of ceramic tubular components by extrusion. The main contribution of this technology is that the filtration plants and the operation thereof are simpler and therefore setting up the process costs less. Furthermore, the filtration yields of the technology proposed may be as much as 5 times or more as great as those obtained from conventional tangential filtration.
