An endoscope 2 has an insertion portion 11 inserted through a living body, an illumination fiber 14 arranged at a distal end of the insertion portion 11 and irradiates the living body with illumination light, a detection fiber 16 which detects return light from the living body, an actuator 15 which swings a free end of the illumination fiber 14, and a ferrule 41 which has a through-hole based on a diameter of the illumination fiber 14 and is arranged between the illumination fiber 14 and the actuator 15. The actuator 15 has an actuator 15a arranged at a first side face 42a of the ferrule 41 and an actuator 15b arranged at a second side face 42b of the ferrule 41 that is different from a face point-symmetric to the first side face 42a with respect to an axial direction of the illumination fiber 14.
