The invention relates to the pleated fabric (1) comprising folds (3), which are alternately on opposite sides of fabric closed by peaks of the folds (31), and whose width continually changes along height of the fold (3), whose principle consists in that, the fold (3) in direction from its peak (31) on one side of the pleated fabric (1) continuously widens into the broadest section of the fold (3), from which it continuously narrows into the narrowest section of the fold (3), in which the neighbouring folds (3) ties together into arms of the fold (3). Next to this the invention also relates to the textile formation (5) comprising at least one layer of the pleated fabric (1) according to the invention, on which at least one further layer of fabric is positioned.
