APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MANAGING MOBILITY OF A TERMINAL IN A COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method to manage the mobility of a terminal in a communication system. Provided is the method to manage the mobility which includes the steps of: receiving information on whether the stay time of the terminal in a cell under the control of a first base station located before the terminal moves to the cell under the control of the base station exceeds a preset threshold value; and controlling the transmission and reception of data for the terminal using either an address allocated to the terminal by the base station or an address allocated to the terminal by a home server according to whether the stay time of the terminal in the cell under the control of the first base station exceeds the preset threshold value.
